Cash for clothes!

You’re short on cash. So, what’s new? That’s why the term starving student was started, right? But luckily for you there is Buffalo Exchange.

So what is it exactly?

Well, yours truly went to Buffalo Exchange located near campus on 2nd street. It's located near "Fingerprints" the record store and spoke to an actual expert Miss Stephanie Williams, a CSULB student double majoring in Fashion Design and Merchandise.

The rules are that students can bring in their clothes and buyers will "buy" the clothes base on style, condition and trends.
"We are a store for people that think outside the box" said Williams.

Now to the real news, How much $ you can get!
You can either get %35 of the retail value in cash or %50 in-store credit.

But this isn't for Fashionistas in LB. Once an item has been in store for over a month, the clothes are donated to local charity.

It's Friday...I'm in love.

Thanksgiving is upon us, and while we enjoy the turkey or "tofurkey", the cranberry sauce and time with our loved ones, the REAL reason we're happy it's because once the food is done it will be...Friday. Why?! Well for you non-fashionistas this Friday means Black Friday.

Here's a couple of "TIPS".
*Wear comfy shoes. (NO SANDALS CSULB STUDENTS) You wouldn't want any tetanus shots ruining your shopping fun.

*Don't Fight! Sure the "Cashmere" blend sweater is on-sale for $19.99 but is it worth a "black eye"?

*Have a game plan. Don't just wander from store to store. Make your shopping list the night before and some-what of an idea of what your going to buy!

*Have fun! It's shopping.

Where will you be at? We'll be reporting from NYC.

Sandal

It's a common trend within college campus' around California, or maybe it's the un-official uniform for Southern California...but SANDALS are seen everywhere on campus.
"They're just comfy! I mean it's one less thing to think about before going to class" said Lupita Contreras, CSULB student majoring in Communications and Spanish.
Most students on campus prefer sandals amongst any other footwear. Most nocticebley it's the "Rainbow" sandal that is studen'ts numero uno choice. Even in winter we still see students with sandals!
Even at the CSULB entry in the Urban Dictionary it defies students here on campus of wearing sandals all year long.

Holy Che!

On campus we see a plethora of students with T-shirts with messages that range from "Don't you wish your Girlfriend was hot like me" to "Save Dafur". Which makes us question the power of fashion. Can clothes still be political?

In this modern age, where "Juicy Couture" rules how valid is it to have a shirt with a semi-serious message. Growing up I would idolize my older cousin's wearing the infamous "Che" shirts. Now it seems that the once the "Revolution" is over, Che is the new image for upper-middle class college students to show that "they know who Che Guevara is?

I do commend those who do wear their "heart" on their sleeves/torso, but when your beliefs start becoming a trend is the message still valid?

Black Beauty!

Ever notice that almost all the models used in magazines fall within a certain criteria? Tall, Thin, Beautiful...White. It seems that high fashion magazines aren't using that many models of color. With a few exceptions such as the notorious Naomi Campbell and Liya Kebe.
Here's an intresting article that poses the same question of why black models aren't used in magazines.
